  • Stephen Butts, II of Fuquay Varina will use the grant to purchase a shelter to provide a central working space for nursery operations.
  • Barbara Cason of Elkin will use the grant to purchase a refrigeration system for their flowers.

Livestock and Dairy

  • Jeff Elmore of Claremont will use the grant to expand and update their cattle handling facility.
  • Jessica Burgess of Conway will use the grant to direct market beef to the consumer.
  • Julia Ann Fitts of Roanoke Rapids will use the grant to install a permanent head chute and working facility.
  • Austin Rash of Olin will use the grant to incorporate equipment to enhance cattle handling.

  • Kaleb Ervin of Franklinton will use the grant to expand their poultry and pork operation.

Grain and Row Crops

  • Josh Snider of Lexington, will use the grant to improve feed efficiency, reduce waste and enhance herd nutrition by purchasing grain storage.
  • Jay Hill of Pilot Mountain will use the grant to renovate an existing structure into a storage facility for bagged corn.
  • Darrell Merritt of Dobson will use the grant to install a hammermill system to crack corn.

Poultry

  • Kaitlynn Blackwell of Midland will use the grant to build a poultry processing facility.
  • Stephen Pass, II of Ayden will use the grant to add a broiler enterprise to his operation.

Forages

  • Garrett Davis of Taylorsville will use the grant to convert 10 additional acres into pasture.
  • Frank Mason of Vass will use the grant to transition 12 acres into horse quality coastal Bermuda hay field.
  • Doug Watts of King will use the grant to conserve hay during winter and increase pasture size.
  • Colby Hammonds of Holly Springs will use the grant to build a barn for hay storage.

Commercial Kitchen

  • April Lloyd of Louisburg will use the grant to convert an on-site building into a community kitchen, classroom, and storefront.
  • Brittany Chester of Mount Ulla will use the grant to create a commercial kitchen to create value added products.
  • Brian Richardson of Zebulon will use the grant to create a commercial kitchen.
  • Nadene Patterson of State Road will use the grant to complete a commercial kitchen.

Farm Store and Farm Equipment

  • Lucas Beaver of Statesville will use the grant to open an on-site farm store.
  • Madison Costa of Rocky Mount will use the grant to purchase a sprayer.
  • Brian Patterson of Ayden will use the grant to refurbish an existing building into a farm stand.
  • Patrick Owens of Wilson will use the grant to purchase a sprayer.
  • Larry Wester of Fuguay Varina will use the grant to purchase a corn planter.
  • Benny Hill of Westfield will use the grant to purchase a no-till drill.
  • Nikki Faucette of Browns Summit will use the grant to complete an on-farm retail store for their produce.

Agritourism

  • Michelle Davis of Archer Lodge will use the grant to expand agritourism on the farm by offering hayrides and additional experiences.
  • Wesley Barnes will use the grant to construct a dedicated building for lemonade, ice cream and donuts to enhance their agritoursim experience.
  • Madison Hirsch of Catawba will use the grant to purchase equipment to produce value-added products to enhance the experience at the fall pumpkin patch.

Community Grants

  • H.O.P.E. of Winston-Salem will use the grant to expand their vegetable production operation by building capacity to operate a multi-farm CSA program and farmstand.
  • Transplanting Traditions Community Farm will use the grant to upgrade their wash and pack stations to provide sufficient space for farmers to improve food safety and sanitation.
  • N.C. Cooperative Extension–Chatham County will use the grant funds to purchase a mobile cattle handling system that can be loaned to all cattle producers in Chatham County.
  • N.C. Cooperative Extension–Stokes County will use the grant funds to purchase a metal, pole-style shed to cover existing rental equipment.
  • Alexander Central FFA will use the grant funds to purchase livestock panels that can be used as individual kidding pens and also be used to create a small animal livestock arena.
  • Triangle Prescribed Burn Association will use the grant funds to purchase equipment needed to cut fire breaks when preparing land for a prescribed burn.
  • Ashe County Agriculture Foundation, Inc. will use the grant to purchase an under-chute cattle scale for use at their livestock working facility.
