Question:

I’m scouting some peanuts that are very lush and well watered and have been all year. Sclerotinia is popping up pretty good this week. It was at a low level last week. Peanuts are about 14-17 days from digging. It’s time for a fungicide which was going to be Bravo. What’s your opinion on treating with Omega this late and also whether or not to use Bravo.

Jordan:

Omega 500 has PHI of 30 days. Control now is marginal in part because it might be hard to get good distribution. I would not be too concerned about one Chlorothalonil application. While other options would be okay, they are more expensive. Chlorothalonil is our good resistance tool. But to be completely safe on the flaring of Sclerotinia Blight, you might lean toward another product.
