The USDA GAP Harmonized Audit is probably the most common food safety audit used by the produce industry in North Carolina. The audit checklist was recently revised by USDA to reflect changes made to the audit scheme by United Fresh Produce Association. We will offer an online workshop via Zoom to review the audit guidelines and share resources in preparation for the upcoming auditing season on May 12, 2021, from 9:30–11 a.m. After you register you will receive the information to connect and resources we will be using during the webinar.

There is no cost to attend but you must register to participate. To register go to: Eventbrite registration for GAP Harmonized Audit Webinar

In preparation for this workshop and audit season we encourage to review the new audit checklists.

If you are a tomato grower, the audit now has a format with questions specific to this commodity for open field production/harvesting, tomato packinghouses, tomato greenhouses, and tomato repacking and distribution.

The new standards and checklists became effective May 1, 2021, for USDA Harmonized GAP and Harmonized GAP Plus+ audits.
